Planning a complete refurbishment of their 1950’s Bucklands Beach home, after a recommendation from a friend of a friend, this couple met with Ernie from Creative Kitchens to discuss a stylish new kitchen.
Turning an existing bedroom and bathroom into a lounge, dining area and kitchen may sound a bit drastic, but for this couple it meant creating an entertainment area that would take capitalise on the spectacular views out to Rangitoto and Bucklands Beach.
“With all of the house renovations under way, we didn’t have a huge budget leftover for the kitchen. Ernie was honest and up-front about costs and found a solution that fitted our budget constraints. And we loved the 3D imagery that Creative Kitchens use in the design stage – it made it all so much more real for us being able to visualise and plan the various areas in our new kitchen.”
Wanting to create a homely, cottage-style kitchen with clean lines, plenty of storage and benchtop space, and an open-plan design ideal for entertaining, Ernie proposed a contemporary galley style kitchen that would efficiently maximise the space assigned to the new kitchen.
Classic tongue and groove cabinetry with Routerek facings in the Lyon Style, lacquered in Resene Quarter Drought Satin Finish, complement the entertainment area in this home, and floor to ceiling pantry and storage cabinets means there are no dust traps.
Benchtops are 20mm thick Cocoa Fudge Caesar stone, accentuating the mosaic-style tile splashback over gas hob. A walk-in scullery, fitted out in similar benchtop material and concealed behind slider doors, provides a storage solution for all small appliances, leaving benchtops clutter-free.
All runners are high spec Blumotion soft close Antaro style and Blumotion soft close Inserta hinges. Sink insert is a Burlington 1 & 1/2 insert, rebate undermounted and the tap, chosen by clients, completes the chic look of this kitchen.
“Creative Kitchens were just fabulous to deal with. Ernie was endlessly patient and I felt reassured that all of our requests would be taken into consideration in the design. The staff were all so warm and helpful, and many of the other contractors we dealt with commented on Creative Kitchen‘s professionalism. When in came to installing our new kitchen, there was minimal fuss, and everything was done on time and on budget. We love our new kitchen and would not hesitate to recommend Ernie and Creative Kitchens.”
